She recalls being terrified, saying,
When I got sick, I remember it so clearly because I was thinking to myself, like, ‘How do I have breast cancer?’ And ‘why do I need a mastectomy?’ And ‘how did this even happen?’ And ‘is this a mistake?’ And ‘what does this mean?
This realization was devastating for her. However, Kobt initially considered freezing her eggs but received disappointing news from her doctor, who told her it was unlikely to be successful due to her age and treatment.
She expressed;
She basically said that given my age and (my breast cancer treatment), it was pretty close to a dead-end.
This news left her feeling heartbroken and overwhelmed with guilt, wondering if she could have done things differently.
