Khabib was born in the village of Sildi in the Tsumadinsky district of Dagestan of Russia.

He was born to Abdulmanap and Habiba Nurmagomedov.

Debut and UFC Lightweight Champion

Near the end of 2011, the Russian athlete signed a six-fight deal with the UFC in the lightweight division.

Hence, he made his debut on 20 January 2012, where he defeated Kamal Shalorus via a rare-naked choke submission.
