Randy Travis has been the victim of chronic disease, which includes three tracheotomies, collapsed lungs, numerous intubations, and IVs until his veins collapsed.
He was in an induced coma, and when he was conscious again, doctors found that he had suffered a stroke sometime between dying and living. With the seriousness of his health issue, doctors told his wife that he probably would not survive or would be in bed for the rest of his life.
He had to be fed through a tube, and his weight decreased to less than 100 pounds due to his emergency brain surgery. Half of his scalp was replaced and stored in his abdomen to keep the skin alive.
All infections were spread through staph, pseudomonas, Serratia, and three bouts of pneumonia.
Doctors told his wife that if he had a heart transplant, it could likely fail because of a virus that caused dilated cardiomyopathy.

After suffering from high pain and a fatal illness, Travis, after recovery, is raising awareness for the same so that people have hope for their life even after such a disease lowers their self-esteem.
After getting a new heart and needing medical treatment by hospitalizing for about six months, he learned to walk and speak with the help of therapy and support from his wife.
Sixty-three years old, Randy also had rehabilitation for more than four hours daily to overcome his trauma. Slowly, he got his voice back and was able to sing again.
Later with medication, he also attended the 2019 CMA Fest, where he gave autographs to his fans and posed to click pictures with them.
