Rob Gronkowski was born in Amherst, New York, the United States, to Gordon Gronkowski and Diane Walters alongside four siblings: Gordie Jr., Dan, Chris, and Glenn.

He looked up to his father, a former college football guard for Syracuse University as a kid.

Hence, being from a sports background, he was encouraged to play at a young age.

He went to Woodland Hills High School for his senior year, where he was ruled ineligible to play football due to his transfer. However, in the end, the ruling was overturned.

After his back surgery, he entered the 2010 NFL Draft. The New England Patriots drafted him in the second round with the 42nd overall pick.

He signed a four-year contract worth $4.4 million, including a $1.76 million signing bonus. As a rookie, he scored four touchdowns to become one of three NFL players to do so.

The tight end was nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week thrice that season.

However, he fell short in the Rookie of the Year race, as he ranked fourth overall. For his second season with the Patriots, he led all tight ends with 20 touchdowns made.

As a result, he set a record for the most touchdowns made by a tightened in his first two seasons. In fact, he was voted the starting tight end for the AFC at the 2012 Pro Bowl.

In the athlete’s second season, the Patriots made the playoffs and quickly cruised for the Super Bowl XLVI.

Gronkowski won his first Super Bowl XLIX in the 2014 postseasons.

Due to more injuries, the former Patriot’s tight end was kept on the reserve list and didn’t play in the super bowl.

Much like the last time, they again failed to defend their title the next season, as they lost to Philadelphia Eagles in the 2017 Super Bowl LII.
