The Middlesbrough-born comedian, 63, explained he had initially been diagnosed with the condition in his mid-20s, and it returned recently after decades.
Moreover, he once had trials for his favorite club Middlesbrough but could not join due to his illness. Nevertheless, he still supports the club.
Besides, in October 2015, Bob had major heart surgery. It led to the cancellation of the first leg of the Reeves and Mortimer 25 years tour. The surgery was a success, but Bob has to track his heart rate constantly.

Bob Mortimer Had A Remarkable Marriage To His Wife Lisa Matthews
Bob Mortimer married his long-time partner, Lisa Matthews, in October 2015.
It was no ordinary wedding. It took place 30 minutes before Bob received his life-saving heart surgery.
Bob learned that his arteries were almost entirely blocked and needed triple bypass heart surgery to survive. Before the risky surgery, Bob wrote his will and decided to marry his long-time girlfriend.
However, the law states that couples must give prior notice of 28 days to their local registrar before the ceremony. Bob was so ill at the time that the registrar in London gave him a waiver.
They allowed him to marry a mere 30 minutes before the surgery. Bob got married at 9.30 am and went to the hospital at 10 am to have his operation.
