Anna Shay was born in Tokyo, Japan, to her Japanese-Russian mother, Ai Oizumi Shay, and American Father, Edward Shay.
Her Father, Edward, was a billionaire businessman. He founded the Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE), a defense contractor that worked with the U.N. and the U.S. government, selling weapons and defense technology. He passed away in 1995.
While he was alive, Edward never wanted Anna to work. Nevertheless, she went on to do a lot of philanthropy. She served as a board member for the George Lopez Foundation, which raises awareness about organ donation and kidney diseases.
