Sam Darnold Disease is a topic of concern as the name of the disease he suffers from is quite amazing. Often referred to as “The Kissing Disease,” it has managed to grab people’s attention worldwide. 

American football quarterback Samuel Richard Darnold plays for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers.

He was taken third overall by the New York Jets in the 2018 NFL Draft while playing college football at USC, where he made history as the first freshman to win the Archie Griffin Award.

In an interview with ESPN’s Lisa Saulters, the Jets quarterback stated that he initially thought the diagnosis was a joke when head coach Adam Gase delivered it.

The concept that Darnold had mono, frequently diagnosed in children and young people and referred to as “the kissing illness,” was not the only one that made him giggle. Darnold admitted that his teammates had also made fun of him after the internet had a great time at his expense.

Sam Darnold Health Update 2022: Is He Sick?

Sam Darnold missed at least the opening month of the 2022 season due to a high-ankle sprain.

General manager Scott Fitterer told reporters on Thursday that the Panthers had put Darnold on injured reserve and anticipate him to be out for four to six weeks.

Following the last cutdown deadline, Darnold was placed on injured reserve, allowing him to play again in 2022.

He has had multiple battles with health issues, but as of now, nothing is troubling him. The football star has overcome various illnesses & is gearing up to go all out for the rest of his career.

Darnold will make $920,000 in basic pay, $3,854,685 in roster bonuses, $4,774,685 in cap hits, and $4,774,685 in dead cap value in 2021. Darnold will have unrestricted free agency in 2023.

Darnold was a red-shirt freshman before the 2016 Campaign began. Eventually, he started for USC against the Utah Utes for the first time in his career. 

In the end, USC lost 27-31 as Darnold completed 18 of his 26 throws for 253 yards and a rushing touchdown. The Archie Griffin Award for Darnold was revealed on January 4, 2017.
