Ondra was born to his father, Miroslav Ondra, and his mother, Eva Ondrova, who holds the nationality of the Czech Republic.

First Ascent and Hardest Routes
In 2013, Adam made his first ascent with Chris Sharma, which took nine weeks of work.
However, the climb of Fight or Flight was succeeded in the second ascent 9b (5.15b).
Ondra succeeded his second ascent of The Dawn Wall with 9a (5.14d) on November 21, 2016. The route was considered the most challenging big wall in the world.
Likewise, Adam set a new highpoint record of the Black Diamond Project the following year, the most challenging indoor sport route globally.
The same year on September 3, 2017, he climbed Silence in the Hanshelleren Cave, which was unclimbed and the hardest project in the world.
