The wife of Ashutosh Rana, Renuka Shahane, is an Indian Actress who has worked in the film and television industries. She was also the co-presenter of the Doordarshan TV show Surabhi until 2001. 

She holds B.A. in Psychology from St. Xavier’s College. Moreover, Shahane also completed her post-graduation in Clinical Psychology from Mumbai University. 

Born in a Marathi family, she made her debut in a Marathi movie, Hach Sunbaicha Bhau. She then joined television with Doordarshan, which made her a household name. 

While she was at the peak of her career, she got the opportunity to act in the movie Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Afterward, she went to work on many Marathi films and television serials.

She was young when her parents divorced, and Shanta remarried a filmmaker named  Arun Khopkar. They ended after a while began a long-term friendship with Jerry Pinto, also a film Journalist.
