His full name is William Stephen Belichick; he was named Bill after College Football Hall of Fame coach Bill Edwards. Bill Edwards was the godfather of Belichick.

Bill was interested in coaching at an early age. He started working in his college life first before beginning as a professional. 

He gained knowledge quickly because he had learned more from his father, who was also a couch. After his college career, he directly started looking for jobs on the NFL team. He firstly requested to Detroit Lions, where his father used to work. 

But it was a waste of time; New York Giants finally hired him after approaching many NFL teams. In New York Giants, he worked under the team’s head coach Bill Parcells. He left New York Giants in 1990. 

He got an offer as a head coach in the Cleveland Browns. He worked with Browns for almost four years. 

Then, in 1996 Belichick signed a contract with the New England Patriots as assistant head coach. He gained work under Bill Parcells. 

Then, again he was hired as the head coach of the Patriots in 2000, after working back with New York Giants. He is working with the Patriots in 2022; he has to spend his twenty-two year with the Patriots. Also, he has earned six Super Bowls from 2000-2022.
