Police found a firearm in the car during the investigation, and they took him into custody; he has no previous law history.

According to the sheriff’s office, the athlete was pulled over by the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office at 10:43 pm when an officer saw Bates fail to stop at Nottingham and Clark Road intersection in Superior Township.

However, he got bailed on a personal bond after being arraigned Monday at 14A District Court, wearing a jean jacket in a beige-colored room. Bates’s next court hearing for probable cause is scheduled for October 6.
