Dominick Blaylock Parents: Meet Mookie Blaylock And Janelle Woods
Dominick Blaylock was born to his parents, Mookie Blaylock And Janelle Woods.
Dominick Blaylock’s father is former NBA all-star Mookie Blaylock, who played 13 seasons in the league, including with the Atlanta Hawks. He was the NBA’s steals leader twice.
His mother, Janelle Woods, was an All-Big Eight volleyball player at Oklahoma. His stepfather’s name is John Woods. Daron and Zach Blaylock, Blaylock’s brothers, played football in Kentucky.
Dominick Blaylock was another Walton baseball player. In football, the 247Sports Composite ranked him as the nation’s No. 5 overall wide receiver prospect in 2019 and the No. 36 overall prospect.
Before graduating from high school, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound receiver was squatting 435 pounds. There are very few, if any, receivers in Athens that can squat that much weight. He was working on his body and speed in many sessions every day. This spring, he gained 201 pounds.
It wasn’t because Janelle, his mother, had made him a vanilla milkshake every night of his childhood.
It was because he had been advised he needed to prepare his body to shake SEC defenders. This spring, the message came fast and furious from the Georgia staff.

Dominick Blaylock Family Details
Blaylock’s grandma approached DawgNation at an awards ceremony one night. She was delightful and gracious. She did, however, offer an interview topic.
Daron and Zack Blaylock are Dominick’s older twin brothers.
Blaylock was a 13-year NBA player. He had a successful NCAA career at Oklahoma. Mookie Blaylock, on the other hand, has not been a big presence in Dominick’s life. The older Blaylock twins were also standouts at Walton and went on to play in the SEC at Kentucky.
The Georgia freshman simply didn’t want to play too far away from such a tight family system. That is the family link that is underemphasized in this story.
The simple headline may be the biological link to the fantastic basketball player. Especially considering Mookie’s athletic abilities influenced a specific world-famous rock band before they were known as Pearl Jam.
Dominick enjoys playing the role of big brother.
