There is no news of Dinesh getting retired. Chandimal got his eleventh Test century on May 26, 2022, during the second test match against Bangladesh. He made a 199-run stand for the sixth wicket with fellow centurion Angelo Mathews, which was the most between the two in Tests. Sri Lanka amassed a massive first innings total of 506 thanks to two centuries, ultimately winning the series 2-0.
Sri Lanka suffered a crushing defeat in the three-day match against Australia in the July 2022 Test series.  In the game, Chandimal scored 0 and 13. However, on July 9, 2022, Chandimal struck a stunning, unmatched 205 runs in the second Test, helping Sri Lanka reach a total of 554 runs.

The left-handed batsman was appointed vice-captain by Mahela Jayawardene after he made his debut against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club on February 1, 2002, where they won by five wickets thanks to Dilshan’s unbeaten century, which included four sixes.
