Smashing Pumpkins lead singer Billy Corgan made several headlines after he was diagnosed with Laryngitis. Is Billy Corgan Sick?

Billy Corgan is an established singer, Actor, songwriter, musician, and professional wrestling promoter. The singer owns and is a promoter of the National Wrestling Alliance(NWA).

The singer gained prominence of fame as the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter of Smashing Pumpkins, a Chicago-based rock band formed in 1988.

In 2011, the Leader founded Resistance Pro Wrestling and joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, becoming the president four years later.

Billy purchased the NWA after years of transforming it from a brand licensing organization to a special promotion after leaving TNA in November 2016.

Is Billy Corgan Sick? 

Reports claim Bily Corgan is diagnosed with Laryngitis, an inflammation of the larynx (voice box).

According to Yahoo, a representative for the rock group announced on Instagram that a gig is due to take place at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

As of now, the singer, Billy, has canceled shows and upcoming touring events due to his being diagnosed with a throat condition.

The band stated over the weekend: “It is with great sorrow that we must announce the cancellation of tonight’s gig in Portland, OR, due to Laryngitis.

Before joining Smashing Pumpkin, the rockstar joined the British band New Order performing live as a stand-in guitarist in 2001.

The singer often mentioned his struggles with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, self-harm, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and suicidal ideation due to his Father and personal issues.

Billy Corgan Illness: Is He Battling With Laryngitis?

On November 13, The Smashing Pumpkins posted to the band’s official Instagram confirming Billy’s diagnosis with Laryngitis.

Moreover, Smashing Pumpkins are yet to announce tonight’s planned show in San Francisco, while this week, there are scheduled to play in Anaheim, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.

The pumpkins are on its joint Spirits on Fire tour with Jane’s Addiction and have four more dates left in the Musical Tour, starting on November 15 before concluding at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on November 19.

Besides Billy’s diagnosis with Laryngitis, the Pumpkins guitarist has Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, or port wine stain on the skin of his left hand and arm, giving it a dark red or purple hue. 

The Pumpkin Leader is one of his first bands, “The Marked,” as a wry nod to the condition. The singer’s last footage of Billy with hair is the “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” video. 

Fans are even anxious about his health condition after his baldness. Billy reportedly began shaving his head when losing his hair in the 90s.

Billy Corgan Health Update

Billy has been updating his followers on Instagram, where he first posted a photo of himself, giving the thumbs up.

Following the announcement, the singer gave fans an update about his condition via his personal Instagram account @wpccodex, writing, “At the voice doctor. Lots of love.”

The wrestling promoter has 61.4 k followers and 605 posts credited on his Instagram handle @wpccodex, with numerous posts regarding his upcoming tours and events.

Besides his singing career, Billy is Actor and producer famed for the movies and series like: Batman & Robin, Stigmata, and Ransom.

Billy made a short movie with his friends in the early 1980s titled “Alien 1/2,” where he portrayed a Tasmanian devil doll.
