On Thursday night, Stu’s passing was revealed in a moving post on the musician’s profile page on Facebook.

Following his sickness, the musician’s family expressed their “relief that he is finally at peace” and announced plans for a memorial service in his honor.

The message said that it is with great sadness that we write this message to let you know that Stu passed away today. You know that he has been sick for some time and has been fighting Cancer for almost a year.

On Thursday night, British DJ Carl Cox led tributes, saying he went by Stu Allan and was sorry to hear the news of his passing that day.

One of his heroes and a bright star of the rave culture he helped create is no longer with us. Never overlook. He sent his sympathies to his family and friends.
