Skye Borgman first introduced the shocking story of the Idaho native through a documentary series, Abducted in Plain Sight? Viewers were horrified by it. More than that, they were outraged, and most of them were like, “how could Jan’s family let that happen not once but twice?
The prominent film and television writer, producer, and novelist Nick Antosca empathized with the Broberg family’s vulnerability. However, he wanted to understand the story from the inside and know what each family member felt. On top of that, he wanted audiences to know how the family was caught in such an incident.
As a result, the story is chronicled in a fictionalized limited miniseries, “A Friend of the Family.” The thrilling series aired on 6 October 2022 on Peacock. The show’s nine episodes will allow us to witness how the Broberg family got caught in the spell of Bob “B” Berchtold.
