Phillip Dorsett Injury Update: Is Houston Texans WR Playing Today?
Phillip Dorsett may be an outstanding QB but is injured most of the time he has played in the NFL.
Dorsett’s first injury was in 2015, week 7 when his ankle fractured, and he had surgery that left him out for five games.
He had his second injury in 2016, with a hamstring injury leaving him for a game.
In 2017, he had another hamstring injury sustained in 2016, which cost him the preseason. He had many injuries that may have cost him his QB post in the Houston Texans.
Phillip Dorsett had his latest injury was in December 2021, when he had a severe injury in his feet as Houston won the game with Los Angeles Chargers. He couldn’t compete in the last two final games of the regular season.
The fifth week of the NFL season has him healthy and in top shape. In the preseason victory over the Rams on Friday, Dorsett caught three of his three targets for 48 yards. He also gained 14 yards on one kickoff return.
Two of Houston’s three touchdown drives featured Dorsett. Phillip caught a 32-yard pass late in the first half while remaining in bounds, resulting in the Texans’ first touchdown. Dorestt also got a pass interference call on the game-winning drive, moving the ball 46 yards.
Phillip Dorsett Early Life
Phillip Dorsett was born on January 5, 1993, and is a native of Miami. Dorsett attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, where he participated in multiple sports during high school.
In addition to playing football, he earned letters in both the long jump and the sprint. While still in high school, Dorsett accomplished some fantastic things.
He won the 5A Florida State Championship and caught 65 passes for 3413 yards and 21 touchdowns.
In addition to football, he also excelled in other sports.
In Phillip’s senior year of 2011, he finished second and third in the 100m and 200m races in a district c competition held by the Florida High School Athletic Association.
Dorsett received football scholarship offers from multiple institutions due to his outstanding performances, but he chose the University of Miami.

Phillip Dorsett Career Achievements
The Indianapolis Colts selected Phillip Dorsett in the first round (26th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft, and he later agreed to a four-year deal.
Fans and sports commentators were critical of his pick, believing that the team already had enough alternatives at wide receiver and should instead focus on upgrading the defensive line.
Dorsett played for the Indianapolis Colts for two seasons before being traded to the New England Patriots in September 2017.
His two seasons with the Colts were dismal as he failed to live up to expectations, catching only 51 catches for 753 yards and scoring three touchdowns.
In September 2017, Dorsett became a member of the New England Patriots. With The Patriots, he had a mediocre debut season.
Although he played in all 15 games, he only caught 13 of the 18 passes targeted explicitly for him, resulting in a pitiful 194 yards and no touchdowns.
His insufficient preparation time to train with and get to know other offensive players, including star quarterback Tom Brady.
