On lap five, as the race resumed, Zane Goddard’s Mustang off the track as he tried to pass, and he lost control as he tried to rejoin the surface. Dale Wood’s Holden collided with him as he drifted across the track, and Matt Campbell’s Ford Mustang also got involved in the collision. The three vehicles were damaged.

Holden sealed a dream farewell on the mountain with two of three cars on the podium, with Mostert finishing second and pole-sitter Waters third. Because of Davison’s late collision, his brother Alex’s teammate’s record of finishing each start at Bathurst was broken.
