When Is TJ Watt Coming Back? Knee Surgery Update, Where Is He Now?
TJ Watt won’t be returning to the field for a while. His anticipated return date has been delayed by a week or two due to knee surgery.
Trent Jordan Watt, better known as TJ Watt, is an American footballer playing #90 outside linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL.
He played college football at Wisconsin, and the Steelers drafted him in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
A cornerstone of the team’s defense, TJ has been missing games since his pectoral injury in the season opener against Cincinnati Bengals on September 11.
When Is TJ Watt Coming Back? Possibly After A Month
TJ Watt recently had arthroscopic knee surgery, which is expected to delay his return. We will most likely see TJ in action when Pittsburgh hosts New Orleans Saints in Week 10 or the Week 11 road game against Indianapolis Colts.
It means that TJ will play on November 13 at the earliest.
Sources report that TJ, who already was recovering from a torn pectoral muscle suffered in Pittsburgh’s week 1 game, had knee surgery to clean up a preseason injury.
The linebacker was initially expected to miss six weeks due to the pectoral injury, setting up a potential return on October 30 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The knee surgery means the defensive star might not be back until after the Steelers’ bye in Week 9.
However, even though his team has struggled without TJ, they will not rush him back and will be careful in monitoring how his knee and pectoral muscle respond. The Steelers are certain that TJ will not return before the bye week.
TJ Now: He Is Resting And Recovering
With TJ set to miss at least three more games, he is resting and mentally preparing himself for his return.
On his Twitter, TJ sent a clear message that he expects to return this year. Much to the excitement of his fans and supporters, he shared a GIF of the Terminator saying, “I’ll be back.”
From his Instagram, we can guess that he is utilizing his time off to be with his newly-wed wife, Dani Rhodes. The two married after eight years of dating on July 9, 2022.
Dani is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Þróttur Reykjavík. She played college soccer for Wisconsin, where she was a two-time Soccer Player of the Year.
