During his third preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers, Henne sustained an ankle injury. After having surgery, he was put on injured reserve and missed eight games.

Henne’s injury forced the other QBs on the roster, Chase Litton and Kyle Shurmur, to step up in Henne’s absence.

However, later that day, ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reported the Chiefs had signed former Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore to serve in a backup role on the team.

The team’s quarterback position would have been a little precarious without the backup signing of Moore.

Even though Mahomes is the current MVP and a lock to win, the Chiefs would have been forced to play either Chase Litton or undrafted free agent Kyle Shurmur in Mahomes’ absence.

Chad Henne Family: Early Life And Education

Chad’s parents are Sheldon Henne and Suzanne Henne. Chad was born to his parents on July 2, 1985, in the American city of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.

Additionally, Chad has not made his family much of a public spectacle. We don’t know anything about his siblings as a result.

Henne is an American citizen of white ethnic origin. In addition, Chad attended the Wilson School District and participated in athletic competitions for the Bulldogs.

Chad holds three Wilson football program records, including lifetime passing touchdowns, career throwing yardage, and most touchdown passes in a game. Henne also helped the club win two Lancaster-Lebanon League championships.

Henne enrolled at the University of Michigan after graduating from high school. Henne continued to play for the Wolverines there.
