Where Is Len Goodman Now? Illness And Health Update: Battled Prostate Cancer

Fans are concerned about the health and whereabouts of Len Goodman after news of his battle with Prostate Cancer.

Leonard Gordon Goodman, better known as Len Goodman, is an English professional ballroom dancer, dance judge, coach, and TV personality.

Len is best known for appearing as a judge on the television dance programs Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars.

Where Is Len Goodman Now?

After successful Prostate Cancer surgery and minor surgery for Skin Melanoma, Len Goodman is doing perfectly well. 

He owns and runs a ballroom dance school, the Goodman Dance Academy, in Dartford, Kent. 

Besides, Len remains the head judge of Dancing with the Stars. He judges alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Len has been with the show since its inception in 2005.

Len left the British counterpart Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 after 14 years with the show. He said it was time to hand the role to someone else, with Shirley Ballas ultimately getting the job.

At the moment, Len has also been concentrating on his charity work. An ambassador for Remember a Charity, Len shared that donating to a charity, we care passionately about allows us to contribute to our community and leave a positive legacy.

Len and his wife, Sue, live in a converted Grade II-listed pub in Ightham near Sevenoaks.

Illness And Health Update: He Battled & Survived Prostate Cancer

Len Goodman was detected with Prostate Cancer in March 2009, which was treated surgically at a hospital in London. He is now cancer-free.

At the time, he was still a judge on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, as well as Dancing With The Stars.

The 78-year-old first kept the details private but later wanted to make people aware of the importance of others getting themselves checked.

Concerning Prostate Cancer, individuals are likely to experience difficulty when peeing. The NHS explains that it develops slowly and can go undiagnosed for years, thus requiring check-ups for detection.

Len Goodman Also Had A Skin Melanoma/ Cancer

Unfortunately, it was not only once that Len had a run-in with the fatal disease that is Cancer. In August 2020, Len confirmed his experience with Skin Cancer through the Melanoma Fund. 

They revealed that the pro dancer has just had Skin Cancer removed and wished to urge others to take it seriously and be aware of preventive measures like sun protection. 

Len had developed a mole on his forehead.

Regarding melanoma, common signs include the appearance of a new mole, a change in an existing mole, or the development of unusual growth on your skin. 

Len Goodman Family And Relationship Details

Len Goodman was born to Louisa Goodman and Leonard Gordon Goodman. The native of Bethnal Green, London, United Kingdom, moved to Blackfen when he was six and later attended Westwood Secondary Modern School.

Len was one of three children and the only one to remain in the family business as his other siblings moved to Newcastle. Len is an English national with Polish roots.

Len Goodman married Sue Barrett on December 30, 2012. His companion of over ten years, Sue, is a dance teacher. 

At Mosimann’s, a dining club in London, the two exchanged vows in a private ceremony.

The professional dancer was previously married to Cherry Kingston, but their relationship only lasted from 1972 to 1987. Afterward, he was in a long-term relationship with Lesley, with whom he had a son, John William Goodman Bell, in January 1981.
