William Mcgurn Illness And Health Update: Is Former White House Director Diagnosed With Stroke?

American writer William McGurn had a heart stroke illness and has now recovered. He is the writer of the Main Street column and Executive at its parent Company.

McGurn also worked for President George W. Bush as the chief speechwriter from June 2006 until February 2008. Likewise, he supports the Republican political party.

He began his career as the managing editor of the American Spectator on December 4, 1958. One of his accomplishments was being named a significant editor and author by Marquis Who’s Who.

The former White House Director of Speechwriting earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 1981 and a master’s degree in communication from Boston University.

Is Former White House Director Diagnosed With Stroke?

The Former House director was diagnosed with a stroke around March 2022. William himself notified about the condition through his Twitter handle.

 He wrote on his Twitter, “Many have asked why my column hasn’t been appearing. The short answer is: I had a minor stroke. I’m recovering; it’s slow. So keep the prayers coming. I’ll be back!”

The writer did not do much elaborated about his illness and the time of its occurrence. The tweet amassed over seventeen thousand likes with prayers for a speedy recovery from his well-wishers.

Though his stroke was said to be minor, he recovered slowly. Probably, he got hospitalized for a few weeks and was under strong medication.

After the lengthy recovery, he seems to be in good condition and back to his work schedule.

Details To William Mcgurn Family

William Mcgurn has a happy family of him, his wife, and three children. He was born to his Father, William A. McGurn, and his mother, Mary S. (Gormley) McGurn, in Champ Pendleton, California.

His parents were originally from Brooklyn, and his Father was in the Marine Corps between Korea and Vietnam.

Senior McGurn and his wife had six children. The writer with his siblings grew up in New Jersey.

When he talked about his political background in the family, William said their parents were not from it. However, her mother was interested in politics, and the genes got to his son.

He has happily married his wife, Julie Ann Hoffman, since April 24, 1993. The details regarding his wife have not come to the media.

Julie and her husband previously used to live in Hongkong where they adopted three daughters from China. Their daughters are Grace McGurn, Maisie McGurn, and Lucy McGurn.

The family happily resides in Madison, New Jersey.
