The Fullback in American football, Alec Ingold, plays in the National Football League for the Miami Dolphins.

The Raiders team captain’s tale was highlighted in an NFL Films film, which discussed his adoptive parents, his adoption experiences, and how football became his haven from the world.

Alec Ingold Parents: Where Are They From?

Alec Ingold’s adoptive parents are Pat Ingold and Chris Ingold.

Pat was a two-time All-American wrestler at Northern Michigan University. He is also the director of buying at Creative Converting in Clintonville, Wisconsin.

He also has a younger sister, Sydnie, the Ingolds’ biological daughter.

Growing up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ingold attributes his success to his parents’ unwavering support and integrity. They informed him he was adopted when he was little.

Ingold also appreciates his birth mother for ensuring he had a nice existence. Alec and his parents met her when he was in third grade.

When asked if he planned to contact his birth mother again, Ingold stated he was unsure but that there might be some interaction during “life events.” He stated that his birth mother did an excellent job investigating potential adoptive parents in the Green Bay region during her pregnancy.

Why Was Alec Ingold Adopted?

Yes, Alec Ingold was adopted in infancy by his parents, who described him as “a wonderful gift” and “something that we will love forever.” 

His adoption experience and his family’s unwavering support turned him into the person and player he is today.

He expressed gratitude for his family. He expressed gratitude to his younger sister and parents for being so close to a family that adores him. He was being placed for adoption because he didn’t know if he was too much of a liability for his birth parents or if he was good enough.

Alec explained that as a 7-year-old, he felt the world’s weight on his shoulders because he felt responsible for not being good enough and being placed for adoption and having to go through that.

He went on to say that it was such a deep part of who he is that he felt compelled to show it off all the time. Then he’d get behind those walls of his house, especially at night, and just lose it.

Alec Ingold Early Career Days

Football, according to Ingold, was his “shelter” for discovering who he truly was outside his family. 

He utilized football as an outlet to become a top high school quarterback in Wisconsin, earning a scholarship to the University of Wisconsin and switching positions to fullback.

His athletic ability and grit shone at the position as a Badger, with over 500 total scrimmage yards and 21 total touchdowns in four years.

Out of college, the fullback accepted a job selling computer software for Oracle, not knowing if the NFL was in his future. On the other hand, the Raiders invited him to tryouts and eventually signed him as an undrafted rookie free agent. Since joining the team, he’s made an impression as the starting fullback.

As his fame has increased on the field, he has also used his NFL platform to become a national spokesperson for AdoptUSKids, promoting awareness about adoption and foster care.

The fullback had a great year in 2021 when he tore his ACL against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10. 

While the injury forced him to miss the second half of the season, Ingold was motivated to return even stronger for the start of the 2022 NFL season.
