Simon’s brother Peter was a photographer. Sadly, Peter passed away in November 2018, and Joanna and Lucy died in October 2022, a day apart; all three succumbed to cancer.

American singer Carly Simon is not sick. There has not been any recent news citing her health problems, which means she is doing well as of December 2022.

However, the legendary singer has had struggles with her health in the past. According to CNN, she had struggled with breast cancer dating back to the late 1990s.

Reportedly, a malignant tumor was removed from her breast in October 1997. She had chemotherapy and successfully recovered from cancer. 

In a 2008 interview on Today, Carly revealed that she had had osteopenia since her 60s. In addition, she said that she had discomfort wearing high heels due to the condition.

Besides, Carly seems fine and has not mentioned any health condition lingering on her well-being.

Carly Simon’s Three Siblings Passed Away From Cancer

Tragically, Carly Simon’s all three siblings passed away due to cancer. 

Her younger brother Peter, a photographer, passed away in November 2018, aged 71. He had been battling cancer and died from cardiac arrest at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.

Likewise, both of Carly’s elder sisters passed away a day apart earlier in October, both of cancer. Mezzo-soprano Joanna Simon succumbed to thyroid Cancer on October 19, 2022, in Manhattan, a day before her 86th birthday.

American singer and composer Lucy Simon passed away on October 20, 2022, a day after her elder sister Joanna’s death. She died of breast Cancer aged 82.

Addressing the tragic situation after her sisters’ passing, Carly said she felt sad that she was the only remaining direct offspring of Richard and Andrea Simon.

Carly Simon Relationship Timeline

Carly Simon has been married twice in her life. Her first marriage was to American singer-songwriter James Taylor.

The couple wed on November 3, 1972, and are the parents of two children, Sarah “Sally” Maria Taylor (48) and Benjamin “Ben” Simon Taylor (45), both of whom are musicians.

However, the relationship did not last long, as Carly and James divorced in 1983.

Carly revealed in an interview that she and her ex-husband James hadn’t spoken in decades, and their relationship is nonexistent.

Four years after her divorce from Taylor, Simon married James Hart, a writer, poet, and businessman. The couple married on December 23, 1987, and their relationship lasted for two decades, as they divorced in 2007.

A year later, Simon reportedly was dating Richard Koehler, a surgeon specializing in minimally invasive laparoscopy. The two were living together on Martha’s Vineyard.

Apart from the above relationships, Simon had been romantically linked with several names. She was briefly engaged to British writer William Donaldson in the 1960s. 

Also, between her two marriages, Simon was engaged to drummer Russ Kunkel. The two were engaged in 1985 after being romantically involved while making Simon’s album Spoiled Girl. They divorced in 1986.
