Wozniacki, who resigned in January, eventually discovered that she had rheumatoid arthritis. This incurable inflammatory Illness causes stiff and painful joints after multiple doctor’s visits, blood tests, and months of misery. She admitted that she had no idea what was happening at the time.

Lee, Wozniacki’s husband, had to get her out of bed, put her hair in a ponytail, and get her on a plane from Montreal, where she had played the day before, to her next tournament in Cincinnati.

withdrew and left for New York City, where a doctor discovered she had an immunological condition. Only after she persisted in fighting for her health did she find out she had RA.

In contrast to osteoarthritis, which is more prevalent and the result of body wear and tear, the disease does, however, frequently manifest itself in younger age groups.

Even though the precise etiology of RA is unknown, experts believe that genetics is most likely to blame. The diagnosis was a surprise to Wozniacki, but she subsequently acknowledged that she had been “suffering with these symptoms for quite a long.”

She is currently accepting and recovering well from the Illness, but sadly her tennis career had to be halted due to the health problem.
