He suffered from Knee Strain Grade on November 25, 2021. In the Raiders’ victory over the Cowboys, Waller sustained a strained IT band. He suffered from a Grade 1 Pedal Ankle Sprain/Pull Unspecified on October 23, 2021. Due to an ankle injury, Waller could not play against the Eagles in Week 7.

On August 4, 2021, he suffered a Pedal Ankle Sprain/Pull Unspecified Grade 1. Waller missed the 2021 preseason due to an ankle injury. His injury list is endless. Small injuries appear to be fairly common when participating in a football game.

When Will Las Vegas Raiders Tight End Darren Waller Return?

Waller was watching the Raiders play the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. He hasn’t been taken care of or given any effort to warm up, which could indicate that he won’t be returning. Waller went to the bathroom late in the second quarter; he hadn’t made a catch yet.

According to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, Waller’s new contract has a basic value of $25 million over the next two seasons. It includes a $2.55 million active roster bonus and the $19.25 million fully guaranteed at signing.

According to Pelissero, Waller will receive $12 million in 2024, $13 million in 2025, and $15 million in 2026, but the remaining portion of the contract is not guaranteed. According to Pelissero, Waller also receives a $250,000 Pro Bowl bonus each year.

Waller has established himself as a top tight end since taking over as the Raiders’ primary starting in 2019. After surpassing the limits of his contract, he is now getting appropriately compensated before playing in his ninth NFL season.
