According to a statement from Ohio State, Likekele, a graduate transfer from Oklahoma State, has temporarily left the program to travel home and attend to some personal matters.

The Dispatch was informed that Likekele’s choice to return to Texas was influenced by a family illness and losing at least one close friend.

However, it was recently revealed that, now that Isaac Likekele is fully healthy, Ohio State must make decisions.

Likely, who was only expected to be used as a last resort, played for 8:30 off the bench and finished with 2 points, five assists, two rebounds, and one block.

Likekele, who was selected as team captain by his teammates during the preseason, started the first eight games before being forced to take a leave of absence from the squad to tackle a personal situation back home in Texas.

When he left, Likekele played 27.5 minutes per game as a small-ball forward and Bruce Thornton’s backup point guard.

Meet Isaac Likekele Parents

Isaac Likekele was born on Feb. 25, 2000. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. His parents are Sarah and Serge Likekele.

There isn’t much information available about his parents. However, he has two lovely sisters, Faith and Hope Likekele.

He likely has written in black marker on both of his sneakers the names of his late grandfather, his friend Criston King (who died in a vehicle accident), and his best friend, John Lee.

In his senior year at Mansfield Timberview High School, he averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, and five assists per game. Likekele guided his squad to the Texas 5A state championship in 2017. As a three-star candidate, he was admitted to Oklahoma State University in May 2018.

As a freshman at Oklahoma State, Likekele averaged 8.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists each game. When Oklahoma State defeated Ole Miss in the NIT Season Tip-Off in November 2019, Likekele was a part of the All-Tournament Team.

Despite missing most of December due to illness, Likekele posted three triple-doubles and 21 points in the Big 12 Tournament triumph over Iowa State.

For the team, he averaged 10.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and a game-high 4.5 assists in his 28 appearances during the 2019–20 Campaign. In the Big 12, Likekele was given an honorable mention.

On May 4, 2022, Likable tweeted his decision to transfer to Ohio State.

Likekele and the United States won the gold medal at the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Heraklion, Crete. He averaged 8.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per contest.
