Gordon rushed 62 times for 621 yards and three touchdowns in the 2012 season. Gordon III was selected by San Diego in the first round (15th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft and started 13 of 14 games.

In addition, he broke Ron Dayne’s 1996 school record of 339 yards and Indiana running back Anthony Thompson’s 1989 Big Ten Conference record of 377 yards. Gordon was named Player of the Week multiple times for his performance against the Huskers.
