Shaheen Shah Afridi was born on April 6, 2000, in Landi Kotal, Pakistan. His Father, Ayaz Khan, is a retired government officer, while his mother is a homemaker.
The 22-year-old cricketer belongs to Pakistani nationality and the Zakhakhel Afridi tribe of the Pashtuns. He was born and raised in Landi Kotal, a Khyber District town on the border with Afghanistan.
Shaheen is the youngest of seven siblings: all brothers. His eldest brother, Riaz Afridi, is 15 years his senior.
Riaz played a single Test match for Pakistan in 2004. He was the one who introduced Shaheen to hard-ball cricket at the FATA Under-16 trials in 2015. He had previously played only tennis-ball cricket until then.
Excellent gameplay at this level led Shaheen to selection for the Under-16 tour of Australia in November 2015, where he had four wickets in the 2–1 victories in the One-Day and T20 series.

Shaheen’s Father, Ayaz Khan, confirmed that the two Afridi families’ have long-standing ties. He reportedly confirmed the news that Shahid’s family had agreed to the proposal.
Further, Pakistani Journalist Ihtisham ul Haq confirmed the news on social media. He shared that the information was true and that they would carry out a formal engagement within two years after the completion of Aqsa’s education.
He added that his tweet was intended to clarify the suspicion caused by social media, but he also requested all individuals to respect both families’ privacy during the auspicious time.
In July 2022, Shaheen opened up about his love life for the first time. In an interview, he spoke about his upcoming marriage, revealing that he and Aqsa were already engaged.
He also shared that it was his wish to marry Aqsa. He expressed happiness that the grace of god was fulfilling his desire.
Shaheen also talked about whether his to-be wife Aqsa is jealous of his crazy female fan following. “I am not sure; maybe she feels something like that,” he shared. He evaded the question of upsetting his female fans by saying, “I found my heart, and that’s enough for me.”
Shahid Afridi, 42, is one of the most celebrated cricketers in Pakistan. He retired from international cricket in 2017, Tests in 2010, and ODIs in 2015. The former Pakistani captain was an all-rounder, a right-handed leg spinner, and a right-handed batsman.
