Steve was the youngest child of his father, Edwin A. Carell, and his mother, Harriet Theresa. Including Steve Carell, Edwin and Harriet had 4 children, and all of them were boys.

Carell’s father, Edwin A. Carell, was an electrical engineer, and his mother, Harriet Theresa, was a psychiatric nurse by profession.

Unfortunately, in 2016, Carell lost his mother. But his father is still alive. His father’s original surname was Caroselli, but it was changed to Carell in the 1950s.

Early Life

Steve Carell grew up as a Roman Catholic from his early childhood. He changed almost 3 schools in his childhood. First, he was sent to Nashoba Brooks School. After that, he was sent to The Fenn School, and at last, he went to Middlesex School. When he was in high school, he used to play hockey and lacrosse. However, he earned his graduation degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, in 1984, choosing history as his subject.

He grew up in Acton, which is also located in Massachusetts. The actor also loved playing fife back in high school. He used to play fife with his family members. Carell earned his degree from Dension University, which was located in Granville, Ohio. He earned his degree in the year 1984.

While he was studying in  Dension University, he was a member of ‘Burpee’s Seedy Theatrical Company’. This was a student-run improvisational comedy troupe.
