Ankita Bhandari, a 19-year-old receptionist, is said to have been murdered at the Vanantara resort in the Pauri district of Uttarakhand, which has prompted widespread resentment in the nation.

The girl vanished on September 18, and after Ankita Bhandari parents failed to find her in her room on Monday morning, Her parents made a missing complaint at a revenue Police outpost.

Police detained the son of a BJP leader, Pulkit Arya, and two resort staff on September 23 for allegedly killing the resort’s receptionist.

She was found dead in a canal on Saturday, and the autopsy report indicated that she drowned. There were also injuries on her body before death that were consistent with blunt force trauma.

Ankita Bhandari was born to her parents in 2003 in Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand. She spent her childhood in Srikot. 

Bhandari grew up with her Father, Virendra Singh Bhandari, and her mother, Soni Devi. Both of Ankita Bhandari parents loved her dearly. 

Ankita’s Father, Virendra Singh Bhandari, is a former safety guard. Meanwhile, her mother, Soni Devi, is an Aanganwadi employee.

Bhandari was her parents’ second-born since she has an elder brother named Ajay Singh Bhandari. Ajay works in a non-public agency in Delhi. 

As for his education, there is no information available on the web. However, Ajay is devasted by the news of his sister’s passing, and so is her entire family.

Specially Anikta Bhandari parents were in bad condition since they couldn’t perform her final rituals even after her body was discovered. 

In addition, Ankita’s untimely passing has shocked the entire nation and devastated her family and friends.

Ankita Bhandari Murder Case: What Happened? 

Ankita Bhandari died at the age of 19 on September 18, 2022, in the Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand.

The son of BJP leader Vinod Arya and owner of the Vantara Resort in Rishikesh, where Ankita Bhandari had previously worked, along with two other people, are accused of killing Ankita Bhandari.

Ankit, the resort manager, and Saurabh, a friend of Pulkit’s, are the other two people accused of being involved in the crime.

According to Ankita Bhandari parents, she vanished on September 18, 2022.

She traveled to Rishikesh that evening at 8:00 pm with Pulkit Arya, resort manager Saurabh Bhaskar, and another suspect called Ankit, alias Pulkit Gupta, according to Police sources.

On the way back, the group stopped to drink alcohol near a canal on Chila Road, and Ankita was waiting for them. After some time, the group and the girl got into a fight.

The teenager threatened to go public and accused the three males of engaging in illegal activity at the Pulkit Arya-owned resort.

As a result, the three are accused of pushing Ankita into the canal in a fit of rage.

Ankita Bhandari Aftermath: Uttarakhand Highway Blockade

Around 6.30 pm, Ankita was cremated on the banks of the Alaknanda in Shrinagar in the company of Pauri District Magistrate Vijay Kumar Jogdande and Commissioner Garhwal, Sushil Kumar.

Until they received the full postmortem report, Ankita Bhandari parents initially balked at performing her funeral rites.

Six days after Ankita Bhandari parents discovered her missing from her room, the teenager’s body was found in the Cheela canal close to Rishikesh on Saturday.

In the meantime, rallies urging justice for the 19-year-old girl persisted in Uttarakhand.

According to CM Pushkar Dhami, the Uttarakhand government would establish a fast-track court to ensure prompt justice. The chief minister also said that the final postmortem report would be made public.

After Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami promised justice, demonstrators lifted an eight-hour blockage of a crucial roadway.
