On the judge’s order, Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy was found not guilty of one count of rape.
Mr. Mendy, 28, was convicted of raping a 19-year-old girl at his home in Prestbury, Cheshire, on July 24, last year, at Chester Crown Court.
Louis Saha Matturie, 41, a co-accused, was also found not guilty of two charges of rape against the same victim.
They are still on trial for alleged sexual offenses, which both of them deny.
Mr. Matturie, of Eccles, Salford, was also found not guilty of one count of sexual assault on the same victim.
After the prosecution produced no further evidence and official not guilty counts were recorded, Judge Stephen Everett directed the jury to free the defendants of those counts on Tuesday.
He had told jurors not to speculate on why the prosecution had opted not to seek guilty verdicts and to continue “faithfully” prosecuting the defendants on the numerous accusations they still face.
The jury had previously been shown a private video of the woman having “enthusiastic intercourse” with Mr. Matturie while claiming she had been raped.
When the hearing restarted, prosecutors informed the court that they were no longer seeking guilty verdicts on suspected sexual offenses involving the 19-year-old complainant.
The rape charge against Mr. Mendy was withdrawn in connection with an incident with Mr. Matturie in which the lady said she awoke to discover the player raping her.

Mr. Mendy is still accused of seven charges of rape, one count of attempted rape, and one act of sexual assault on six young women.
Prosecutors claim Mr. Mendy was a “predator” who “made the pursuit of women for sex a game.”
Mr. Matturie, the footballer’s pal and fixer, is accused of finding young ladies for sex. He denies rape on six counts and sexual assault on three counts against seven young ladies.
Both men stated that any sex with women or girls was consenting. The trial is still ongoing.
