During his initial career, Bondarenko made a jump of 2.15 meters in 2005 in Yalta.
In the following year, in 2006, he made a high jump of 2.21 meters.
The same year, he participated at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Beijing, making a jump of 2.14 meters in the qualifying round.
