On February 4, 2021, Britt Reid’s Dodge pickup collided with the vehicles when he was allegedly drunk and traveling at a speed of 84 mph.

Reid, 38, had admitted guilt to the felony charge of driving under the influence.
On February 4, 2021, Reid crashed into two vehicles while operating a pickup truck at a speed of over 85 mph close to Arrowhead Stadium.
The crash left Ariel Young, who was five years old at the time, with a chronic brain injury.
Reid apologized to the family at the court on Tuesday, holding back tears as he turned to them and said, “This crash is something I’ve struggled with.”
After the decision, Reid issued a statement expressing “sincere regret and acceptance of responsibility for his conduct and hopes and prayers for A.Y.’s continuing recovery.”
The family had been hoping for the seven-year maximum sentence on felony drunk driving charges.
The lawyer, Tom Porto, said in a statement that the family was “outraged” that the maximum term wasn’t imposed.
