On Wednesday, his body was found floating off the coast of Nago, in Okinawa Prefecture. According to a Coast Guard official, Mr. Takahashi was vacationing alone in Nago, a well-known tourist location, and was reportedly snorkeling when he passed away from undetermined circumstances.

Given that he was wearing snorkeling equipment when he was discovered, it seems most likely that he drowned.
