Joseph Elliott Bunney, aka Joe Bunney, was born in Manchester, England, on September 26, 1993. He is an English professional football player playing as a forward and defender for Stalybridge Celtic Football Club.

Starting his football journey with Lancaster City’s youth system, he broke into their first team during the 2011–12 season while studying sports science at Myerscough College.

On April 27, 2013, he made his debut as a professional footballer for Rochdale, scoring the winning goal against Plymouth Argyle with a header from a cross by Scott Tanser. 

Around 5 years later, on January 16, 2018, Joe transferred to Northampton Town for an undisclosed fee. On June 25, 2018, he was loaned to Blackpool, but his loan there was cut short on January 31, 2019, and he returned on loan to his former club Rochdale.

After the 2018-19 season, he was listed for transfer by Northampton Town, after which he joined Bolton Wanderers on September 2, 2019, on a free transfer.

Unfortunately, sometime later, he suffered injuries in a road traffic collision, which left him with a broken collarbone and ribs, affecting his playing ability. Since then, Joe Bunney has signed and transferred to clubs such as Bolton Wanderers, Matlock Town, Hartlepool United, and Grimsby Town.

However, on August 25, 2021, he eventually returned to Non-League with a signing for Altrincham. After that, he signed with 4 more clubs and is now contracted to Stalybridge Celtic.

Joe Bunney’s partner, Ella Toone, has quite a promising career as a professional footballer and is already well-known in the football world.

In her early years, she played at Astley & Tyldesley FC, where a plaque was put up in her honor at the club in 2022 as part of the “Where Greatness Is Made” initiative.

Born on September 2, 1999, Ella Toone plays as an attacking midfielder for Manchester United in the Women’s Super League and is also a part of the England national team.

Ella scored the first goal in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 final against Germany, eventually winning with a score of 2-1. It marked England’s second major tournament win in international football.

Additionally, she was selected to be part of the team for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where during the World Cup semi-final match, Ella Toone scored the first goal for England in a 3–1 victory against Australia. Unfortunately, they lost the finals against Spain with a score of 0-1.
