Allan Irenee Saint-Maximin, popularly known as Saint-Maximin, is a French professional football player. Saint plays as a winger for Premier League club Newcastle United. 

He has played for multiple youth teams like U.S. Ris-Orangis, Verrieres-le-Buisson, Saint-Etienne, and AC Boulogne-Billancourt. On September 1, 2013, He made his alliance one debut for Saint-Etienne.

Similarly, On July 31, 2015, he joined Monaco but was suddenly lent to the German club Hannover 96. Likewise, On July 28, 2016, he signed a loan deal with Bastia on a season-long. 

On August 7, 2017, he joined the rival club Nice for an unwrapped transfer fee. 

On August 2, 2019, he signed a six-year-long contract deal with Premier League side Newcastle United and made his debut for Newcastle United on August 11, 2019.

On the international level, he has presented France at multiple age levels of games like U16, U17, U20, and U21. Therefore, He is still to make his senior international team debut.

Premier League football continued this weekend after the previous round of games was postponed as a mark of respect for Queen Elizabeth’s II passing. 

Newcastle United hopped to have their player Saint return from injury for the visit of Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Howe also confirmed that Allan Saint-Maximin would be missing for the next clutch of games.

Saint-Maximin, as the attacker, had been on the bench last weekend against Bournemouth. A nailed-on starter when fit, Saint-Maximin has missed time since August with the injury and is now set to miss a further three matches.

Manchester United was given a major advantage ahead of Sunday’s match against Newcastle, with Allan Saint-Maximin ruled out. 

According to The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, the skilled winger is injured and will not be available for selection to Eddie Howe.

After Saint got injured, he also missed the games against Crystal Palace and Liverpool. Moreover, Eddie Howe stated that Allan Saint-Maximin is in the struggle to start at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Likewise, Saint-Maximin, periphery since late August with a hamstring problem, missed out on Newcastle United’s starting XI at Craven Cottage, where the team won on Saturday 4-1. Eddie thanked Miguel Almiron for two goals in the match.

Asked if Saint-Maximin would return for the home game against Brentford on October 8, United’s head coach said, “Hopefully, he will, as it is difficult to guarantee. Also, he trained with the team for the match.”

Saint-Maximin Illness And Injury Update

Saint-Maximin injured his hamstring during the 1-1 draw at Wolves, where his late volley earned United a point. Howe revealed after the 2-1 loss at Liverpool that Saint had no muscle pull; instead, it was just swelling.

Saint returned from a hamstring injury at the weekend in the 5-1 win over Brentford in a cameo role. Saint-Maximin had a hand for the fifth goal, which Joelinton took into the box before Ethan Pinnock passed the ball to his goalkeeper.

Saint returned to training on the eve of the game, but Howe refused to take any chances with his fitness.

Saint-Maximin made his comeback from a hamstring problem off the bench last weekend.

However, the Daily Mail report that the winger will miss the club’s visit to Old Trafford – and next week’s fixtures against Everton and Aston Villa.

Eddie Howe didn’t mention any fresh injury concerns when he spoke to the media on Friday.

Asked if Saint-Maximin was a contender to start, United’s head coach said: “He’s in contention, yeah.”

He said: “Maxi has a very slight irritation of his hamstring. On its own, that would be very small and probably just be a few days out, but the problem we have is that because it’s the third time he’s done it now, we’re going to have to be very careful with his return to play. That’s a blow.”
