Benjamin Franklin Parker, often known as Uncle Ben, is a fictional character that frequently appears alongside the superhero Spider-Man in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

In addition, Uncle Ben was based on Benjamin Franklin, an American founding Father. The comic book character has been heavily adapted into various media, including movies, animated shows, and video games.

In the Spider-Man trilogy by Sam Raimi and The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), he was portrayed by Cliff Robertson and Martin Sheen, respectively.

The persona has played a crucial role throughout Spider-Man’s history. The fundamental catalyst for Peter to become Spider-Man has been portrayed in virtually all versions of the hero’s origin story as his death at the hands of a minor criminal that Spider-Man previously had the chance to catch but chose not to.

Ben once said, “With great power comes tremendous responsibility,” and that saying has since become Spider-Man’s catchphrase.
