Sajid Javid, now 53 years old, was born in Rochdale, Lancashire, in the United Kingdom on December 5, 1969.

He is one of Abdul Ghani-Javid and Zubaid Javid’s five sons, immigrants from the Pakistani province of Punjab.

His family, who immigrated to the UK in the 1960s, were farmers from the Punjabi village of Rajana close to Toba Tek Singh. His father was a bus operator. Until she had been in the UK for ten years, his mother could not speak English.

With his four brothers, Sajid Javid grew up in a two-bedroom Bristol apartment located above a store.
