The proud father took to Instagram and announced the happy news to his followers. He stated that the couple is very blessed and fortunate to welcome their little boy into the family.

The announcement of his baby boy came as a surprise, as many didn’t have prior knowledge of when they were expecting. The couple has been dating since 2018, and Arthur is their first and only child till date.

Arthur Elijah de Paula Embiid is the only child of Joel Embiid and Anne de Paula. The NBA center and his model girlfriend welcomed their first child on September 17, 2020.

Arthur was born under the sign of Virgo and is two years old at the time of this writing. He was named in honor of Joel Embiid’s late brother.

Embiids’ younger brother, Arthur Embiid, died during a car accident when he was only 13.

His death came three months after Embiid was selected as the No. 3 overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2014 NBA draft.
