In addition to film roles, Hamblin was cast in television during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. He made cameos in the soap operas Number 96, Class of ’74, The Young Doctors (as Dr. Dan Wheatley), Case for the Defence, and Sons and Daughters.

Hamblin played Michael Chamberlain in the 1984 television film The Disappearance of Azaria Chamberlain. In the 1990s, he took a sabbatical from television, but in the early 2000s, he returned to cameo roles on All Saints and Love My Way.
