The MLB player made big headlines with his old tweets and since-deleted messages ranging from mid-2011 to late 2012. As reported by People, some of his tweets used the n-word. Another message allegedly sent by Josh said, “I hate gay people.”

The other contents were the first emoji with “White Power” and KKK, an abbreviation for the Ku Klux Klan hate group.

Hader was alerted to the online firestorm once he came out of the game. The player locked his account during the game and responded to the Controversy after finishing the game. While saying he didn’t clearly remember sending any of those tweets, he took full responsibility for them.

He further apologized and said he was 17 years old, an immature, s child. What he said was inexcusable and didn’t reflect his present self. Hader, ready to face any consequences, had to attend sensitivity training and join initiatives focusing on diversity and inclusion.

Due to the Josh Hader controversy, his family and friends wearing his All-Star replica jersey took them off and were given generic jerseys without his name on the back. After apologizing, the athlete deleted his account on Twitter.
