During the winter, Mark Schiefele would dedicate his days to the ice hockey rink, and in summer, he would focus on lacrosse.

He commenced playing for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers rep program in the Alliance Pavilion League; all those drafted in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL)’s Saginaw Spirit.

Mark was still doing track and field, badminton, volleyball, and basketball at the side.

He was also a high schooler drafted as the 134th overall pick in the 7th round of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.

In 2011, the Winnipeg Jets drafted Mark Scheifele as the 7th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Remaining Seasons and to Date

Afterward, Mark Scheifele again went to play for Barrie in the 2012-13 season, and as he came back, all 60 of Winnipeg’s regular-season games.

In the meantime, he was named the top candidate for the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s rookie of the year.
