A Day Into Mark Scheifele’s Life

Mark Schiefele is quite sensitive about what he eats and how it brings him to be.

Hence, foods as eggs, mushrooms, and corns are the stuff he keeps away himself. As we dive into his day, he first wakes himself up with a glass of lemon water.

As he prepares himself for breakfast, he organizes oatmeal, coconut flakes, granola, fresh fruit, chia pudding, or a smoothie bowl.

Later, to get snacks, he has his pineapple water and super-seed energy bars ready all the time.

Moving onto lunch, he has sweet potato, quinoa, chicken, fish, or a vegetarian bowl.

Furthermore, his weaknesses are ice cream and chocolate bars.

“I’m eating the right foods at the right times; it lowers the stress level in my body. I sleep better, too, because my body isn’t overworking itself to digest things overnight. At the end of the day, it’s about what you feel good eating.”

At the age of eighteen, 2011, the Winnipeg Jets drafted Mark Scheifele as the 7th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

During the phase, Mark was pretty unsure about what should be done and what shouldn’t be. Thus, he was trying everything he could.

At first, he played in the Winnipeg Jets’ preseason games, where he posted two goals and two assists against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Thus, he had their foremost contract in October of the same year, and he was set to start the season on Winnipeg’s NHL roster.

All this gameplay did not come easy to that 6-foot-3 inches and 170 pounds Mark Scheifele.

Apart from the games, he was trying to gain weight to become bulkier and what he does was eat 20 granola bars a day.

“You know those little Chewy granola bars? I probably ate 20 of those a day. They were full of sodium, full of sugar, full of preservatives. Now looking back, it’s like, what was I thinking?”
