Salah’s mom once came in highlight in 2019 when he shared a witty reply from his mom. He shared an Instagram story featuring a WhatsApp conversation.
She jokingly reacted to a photo showing a female fan hugging her son. Her chat read:
“Oh, what is this? If I saw your Father in this situation, I would file for divorce against him,”
The picture was from a quick visit to Dubai, where he shot a commercial for the sports brand Adidas. The photo showing the fangirl hugging the photographer had gone viral on social media.
Though his mom has stayed out of the limelight, she supports his career. Meanwhile, she has kept herself out of the media’s eye to maintain her privacy.

Mo Salah’s Father, Salah Ghaly, is a retired teacher and soccer coach. He has always talked about his Father’s influence on his life and career.
Moreover, he also credits his dad for helping him develop his skills and passion for soccer. Originally from Nagrig, Egypt, Ghaly worked as a teacher before shifting to coach.
With the support of his parents, Salah made his debut at the young age of 14 in Football. He joined the youth team ‘Al Mahowloon.’
