Then, all jurors would have to concur that the aggravators outweigh the mitigating factors. Last but not least, even if the jury agrees with those points, they still need to decide that Cruz should be executed unanimously.

The jury will take these issues into account for each of the 17 murder charges. If the jury is split on whether to sentence Cruz to death on any count, Cruz would be sentenced to life in prison.
