Talented racer Sergio Perez joined the team, Sauber, in 2011 with the replacement of Nick Heidfeld. Since then, he is recognized as the fifth Mexican Formula One racer after Hector Rebaque.
In his debut race, he became 7th in the Australian Grand Prix. He impressed his teammates by making fewer than two stops to change tires.
