However, the video was erased an hour before Hajipour’s arrest, reportedly because Iranian cyber Police contacted him and compelled him to delete the post. According to the singer’s relatives, he was invited for a brief interview with the Police but was then arrested.

“You wrote the poem of this song to heal your pain,” Hajipour previously wrote about the song.

Protests have erupted across Iran in the last week after Amini, 22, died after being arrested by morality police in Tehran for wearing “unsuitable clothes,” with witnesses alleging that she was abused while being brought to the police station.

Authorities have stated that an investigation into the cause of death will be launched. However, they have primarily described the occurrence as an accident.

At least 41 people have died in unrest sparked by the death of a young woman, as the judiciary warns of harsh action without mercy.

Since the unrest began, at least 41 people have died, mostly protesters but also members of the security forces, according to official figures, but sources say the true figure is much higher.

The death toll was at least 57, according to the Norway-based group Iran Human Rights (IHR) on Sunday evening, but it noted that ongoing internet blackouts were making it increasingly difficult to confirm fatalities in a context where women-led protests had spread to scores of cities.
