Thomas Kerridge, also known as Tom Kerridge, is an English Michelin-starred chef and television presenter.

He works primarily in the United Kingdom and has worked in several restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Rhodes in the Square and Adlards.

After appearing in several small television parts as a child actor, Tom decided to become a chef instead and attended culinary school at 18.

Beth is not only his wife but also his business partner and colleague. The two opened the pub, The Hand & Flowers, in 2005, which gained his first Michelin star within a year. In 2012, they won a second Michelin star, the first time a pub had done so.

Tom then opened a second pub in Marlow called The Coach, which has also been a Michelin star winner. More recently, he opened The Butcher’s Tap and set up his first London restaurant in 2018 at Corinthia Hotel London.

Despite his professional career as a chef, Tom does not cook at home that often and shared that his oven is the least-used appliance in his House.

He was the elder of two brothers in his family. His mother, Jackie Kerridge, raised them as single mom. She held down several jobs while moving the family around several houses in Gloucester.

Tom attended Saintbridge Secondary School in the city. He would cook for himself and his younger brother after school while his mother was at work. 

When he attended a youth theatre, he was spotted and cast in the 1991 Christmas special of the BBC1 television show Miss MarpleThey Do It with Mirrors. Afterward, several other small television roles followed.

However, at 18, Tom decided to pursue his love of cooking instead of a career in acting. He found Marco Pierre White’s White Heat cookbook inspiring and shared that it encouraged him to become a chef by attending catering college in Cheltenham.
