Two bakers were absent from the Great British Baking Show tent for episode three: Rebs Lightbody and Abdul Rehman Sharif both missed bread week, gravitation the attention of the fans towards health.
Instead of having ten bakers compete, only eight will face off. The show’s hosts, Lucas and Fielding, did not specify what illness kept both bakers from the tent.
The Great British Bake Off revolves around Britain’s best amateur bakers competing in the iconic white tent, all united to prove their baking skills and impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
According to the source, The Great British Baking Show films weekly, allowing the bakers to return home and film on the weekends.

Are Rebs And Abdul Sick?

Showrunners at Channel 4 confirmed the news that Rebs and Abdul would be missing from Tuesday evening’s episode of Great British Bake Off 2022.
Despite sailing through the last two rounds of the competition, Abdul won’t be showing off his flour-throwing skills this evening, as many viewers will have noticed that he’s missing from tonight’s episode.
Following their health issues, several online portals speculated if Rebs and Abdul tested positive for COVID after rebs tweeted I was forced to go home for the safety of all in the tent.
According to Decider, Rebs continued to double down via tweet that she was upset to miss “Bread Week,” sharing a sad selfie and that she cried.
Meanwhile, despite numerous discussions about their absence, Abdul was unavailable in the social media limelight.
Why Were They Missing?
Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas announced at the start of the episode that both Abdul and Rebs would be sitting out this week as they were feeling unwell.
The Irish baker was also the subject of some controversy last week when viewers alleged she kept asking for help from her fellow bakers. Yet, fellow contestant Janusz defended her, tweeting, “I offered Rebs a helping hand as I finished before time; you just don’t see it on TV! You only see Rebs asking me, but it was offered prior!”
Rebs and Abdul will return to the tent for the upcoming episode of The Great British Baking Show, “Mexican Week,” according to co-host Noel Fielding.
