Tyreaf Isaiah Fleming, of Harrisonburg, was reportedly detained on accusations of attempted murder, aggravated malicious wounding, firearm possession by a felon, and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony on Sunday afternoon, according to the Police.
According to officials, further charges are anticipated as the investigation progresses. The offender was identified by surveillance cameras and witnesses, according to the Police.
Harrisonburg Police Department Chief Kelley Warner stated that the investigation into the event is ongoing as they try to identify anyone else who might have been involved.
“I am thankful for the prompt action of all of our first responders and the dedication of our cops in locating and apprehending a suspect,” stated Kelly.

According to Police, Tyreaf Isaiah Fleming, 20, of Harrisonburg, was detained on Sunday afternoon due to an incident that left eight persons with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in the 1500 block of Devon Lane.
Further charges, according to the Police, are anticipated as the investigation proceeds. Hours after the shooting in the 1500 block of Devon Lane, less than a mile from the campus in Harrisonburg, Police announced Fleming’s arrest at around 4:30 pm.
According to authorities, it is being investigated to see whether there are any further suspects. Around 2:20 in the morning, sources reported gunfire in a crowd at an outdoor gathering close to the University.
Officials claimed that witness accounts and security camera footage were essential in identifying Fleming as a suspect.
